Screen-reader feedback for sign-in and recovery

Visible sign-in, enrollment, and password-recovery results now identify themselves as alerts or statuses for assistive technology.

Why it matters

  • - Teachers and students using screen readers can identify failed sign-in, class-join, reset-request, and password-update results as alerts.
  • - Successful password-reset requests and teacher or student account notices use polite status semantics.
  • - Visual wording, colors, layout, redirects, and the privacy-preserving reset response remain unchanged.

Verification

  • - All eight focused Chromium cases failed against the previous semantics and passed after the fix in a rebuilt production bundle.
  • - All 40 feedback-role cases and all 260 public smoke and accessibility cases pass across Chromium, Firefox, WebKit, Mobile Chrome, and Mobile Safari.
  • - All 21 public DOM states per browser remain clear of serious and critical axe findings.
  • - All 215 required unit tests, typecheck, lint, static security, production build, and npm audit with zero vulnerabilities pass.

Complete public recovery accessibility proof

Every intended public content route and visible enrollment, sign-in, invalid-code, and password-recovery state now receives the same five-browser accessibility protection.

Why it matters

  • - Contact, support, legal, release, enrollment, sign-in, and password-recovery screens now share the serious and critical accessibility checks that already protected SimDeck's main public routes.
  • - Password-reset users are protected against regressions where the sent confirmation, invalid-link recovery, or valid reset form renders the wrong state.
  • - Desktop Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Mobile Chrome, and Mobile Safari all exercise the expanded public route and recovery-state matrix.

Verification

  • - All 21 public DOM states pass serious and critical axe scans in every required browser profile.
  • - All 220 public smoke and accessibility cases pass across Chromium, Firefox, WebKit, Mobile Chrome, and Mobile Safari.
  • - All 215 required unit tests, typecheck, lint, static security, production build, and npm audit with zero vulnerabilities pass.

  • Expanded the axe matrix from 7 public routes to 21 distinct public route and query-state combinations.
  • Added password-recovery behavior proof for the sent, missing-token, and valid-token states.

Teacher-neutral student enrollment

Student join, approval-wait, invalid-code, and recovery messages now stay tied to the selected class without assuming every class belongs to David.

Why it matters

  • - Students who join another teacher's class no longer see an unrelated teacher name while waiting for approval.
  • - Missing-account, invalid-code, and failed-join recovery tells students to contact their own teacher.
  • - David reserve, Bank, classroom action history, and teacher-control language stays unchanged where it is an intentional classroom concept.

Verification

  • - The new regressions reproduced all seven hard-coded enrollment and recovery boundaries before the fix.
  • - Thirty-six focused authentication and student-mutation unit tests pass, including invalid-class recovery.
  • - All 215 required unit tests and all 145 five-browser public smoke and accessibility cases pass.
  • - The approval-wait browser regression and reviewed desktop/mobile renders pass against a fresh production build.

Mobile Chrome release proof

SimDeck's critical public flows and accessibility checks now cover Mobile Chrome alongside desktop Chrome, Firefox, desktop Safari, and Mobile Safari.

Why it matters

  • - Android-sized visitors now receive the same automated protection against broken navigation, serious accessibility violations, horizontal overflow, and undersized primary controls as other supported browsers.
  • - The public demo, sign-in entry points, protected teacher routes, student route, Help, What's New, and error pages are checked consistently across five browser and device profiles.
  • - Mobile keyboard navigation follows the visible mobile demo action instead of assuming a desktop-only link is present.

Verification

  • - The new Mobile Chrome lane reproduced the hidden-desktop-link timeout before the test fix.
  • - Focused Mobile Chrome and Mobile Safari keyboard-navigation checks passed after the fix.
  • - One hundred thirty-five public smoke and accessibility cases passed across Chromium, Firefox, WebKit, Mobile Chrome, and Mobile Safari.
  • - The Linear release ledger was updated before this public page entry.
